WOW! What a great video!
Easy to follow and packed with information. Joy is not only a phenomenal artist, but a wonderful teacher as well. I learned a lot and feel confident that I can reproduce her technique.
Not up to Amazon's standards
I'm a regular customer of Amazon and I'm used to a high standard of product from them, but this video was the exception. The teaching style was uninformative, being basically just a demo, with little descriptive commentary. What commentary there was, was delivered in a flat, unencouraging manner. In addition, it was difficult to follow what the artist was doing as her hand and the pastel hid most of the strokes.
I might have been able to overlook some of the poor delivery, had the end results been different. I kept waiting for the artist to develop the first drawing on the video, but when she stopped and presented (what
looked like) a partially finished piece, l was shocked. The finished drawing looked nothing like the reference photo and needed a great deal more work.
The rest of the video was more of the same. I was unimpressed with this artist's ability to capture a
likeness or bring out any of the dogs' personalities. I'm just glad I rented this...
